Within this incomparable place like is the Cap de Creus the biggest sea kayak event of the Mediterranean is brewing. Since beginning of September we are working to welcome you in the future II International Sea Kayak Symposium, We decided to organize every two years in order to share with other activities we conduct continuously as a club.

Where the leitmotiv of the first symposium was safety, this issue will bring together two aspects of sea kayaking which are like mother and child: the traditional kayak or "qajaq" in their original language and the modern kayak, descendant of the first. Mother and child share similar values as: evasion, nature, meetings, fraternity, etc. Sea kayakers prefer meetings where to share knowledge and experiences to competition. They love to share unforgettable minutes and meeting new friends.

In a few months we will meet in Llançà, we will enjoy and then, after thanking everybody: participants, collaborators, sponsors, we will be back home with our head full of images and emotions. Most of you could not imagine the necessary dedication to ensure those days will be a fest and this is the reason why I take this opportunity to thank very much all club members which are and will be working till the last minute for the organization.

The Symposium wants to:

•  Let you know deeply the practice and techniques of greenland and modern sea kayaking getting closer these different modalities of the same sport to amateurs, authorities and institutions.

•  Be a place of learning, point of encounter of people with similar interests in a pleasant atmosphere. A place to give and receive ideas, learning new things and discussing about different subjects related with this sport.

Program:

•  Three days of work, the Symposium itself from March 31st. until April 2nd.

•  Six more days, the paddling week from April 3rd. until April 8th. to offer the participants the opportunity of navigation with the invited experts in groups of different levels, putting in practice all the learning and sharing the own knowledge in an incomparable place like The Creus Cape.

But not only the participants will enjoy, also the families and company of the participants will enjoy of a holiday, discovering the many possibilities that the zone offers:

•  Walk and observation in the Natural Parks of Las Alberas, The Creus Cape and the bogs of l'Empordà.

•  Tourist Cultural Routes, travelling through the innumerable vestiges of the Greek, Roman and Iberic Civilizations that lived in this zone many years ago.

•  Romanic Rout in l'Empordà, with churches and remarkable monuments.

•  The figure of Salvador Dalí and his intense relationship with l'Empordà.

As you can see, there are very good reasons to participate in this Symposium.
